J&P Group and Suppliers Rally Round to Support Chosen Charity

Posted August 10th, 2010

Over 20 J&P Group supplier organisations rallied round to support 3-year old Harry Vaughan (pictured) from Flint in North Wales who suffers from a rare form of Muscular Dystrophy. The J&P Group’s 2010 golf charity day raised £5, 920 to help Harry and his parents cope with this rare genetic condition.

The disease, which affects less than 1 in 50,000 children, is life limiting. Sadly, Harry is unable to crawl, stand or walk and additionally suffers from severe respiratory problems. As a consequence, his mum, Debbie, has had to give up work in order to provide Harry with the full-time care his condition demands

24 teams representing J&P Group supplier organisations took part in the golf tournament which was held at Old Padeswood Golf Club near Mold, North Wales. They competed for a range of prizes that included a £15,000 Ford Astra for a hole-in-one… which sadly went unclaimed.

The money will be used to buy specialist equipment that will improve the quality of Harry’s day-to-day life. At the top of the list is a custom-made electric wheelchair that will provide Harry with some much needed mobility.
